Media Advisory: Governor-General to visit flooded towns of Roma and Mitchell

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce will visit the flood affected areas of Roma and Mitchell in Queensland this Sunday, February the 12th.
The details of the Governor-General’s itinerary are as follows:
8:45 am: Arrival at Roma airport
9:00 am – 10:00 am: The Governor-General and Mr Bryce attend a service at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Roma
10:15 – 11:30 am: As guests of the Mayor of Maranoa Regional Council, Councillor Robert Loughnan, Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce attend a community morning tea with residents, emergency service works and volunteers, at the Roma RSL
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: The Governor-General and Mr Bryce visit flood affected properties
12:45 pm: The Governor-General leaves Roma showground for Mitchell on a Blackhawk helicopter
1.30pm: Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce attend a community barbecue with residents and volunteers; visit the Council workshop to meet displaced residents and the Mitchell aged care facility
The Governor-General and Mr Bryce will then have the opportunity to see the impact of the flooding first-hand, before leaving Mitchell at 4.30pm for Roma.
