Farewell for Their Excellencies
On Thursday 28 August 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto’a-Lavaka, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Tonga. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Va’inga Tone (Secretary for Foreign Affairs) and Mr Leimoni Taufu’I (Deputy High Commissioner-designate) High Commission for the Kingdom of Tonga. The Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery also received Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Nanasipau’u Tuku’aho.

On Wednesday 27 August 2008, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Mr Mohamed Tawfik and Dr Amani Ahmed Amin.
