Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

The position of Official Secretary to the Governor-General was established in 1901. The Governor-General Act 1974 was amended in 1984 to establish the position as a statutory office. The Official Secretary and his staff provide the Governor-General with the necessary support to enable her to carry out her constitutional, statutory, ceremonial and public duties.
